Nominating Committee

Functions and Powers

The Nominating Committee will present a list of candidates to each regular annual meeting of the General Assembly, from which the required number of persons are to be elected to the Board of Directors by the General Assembly to replace those who have completed their term of office, or have resigned. The Nominating Committee, when presenting the slate of nominees, shall bear in mind the diversity principles set out in section 6.2.

 

Composition and Terms of Office

The Chairperson of the Nominating Committee will be a member of the Board of Directors. Two other members shall be elected by the General Assembly for a three year term, renewable once.

 

Procedures

The Nominating Committee shall inform all members of its proposed slate of candidates not later than forty five days before the date set for the annual meeting. The Nomination Committee shall receive further nominations up to thirty days before the date set for the annual meeting. Each additional nomination must be proposed and seconded by a member of the Association. No nominations shall be allowed from the floor. Directors representing the Student Committee, Deans and Directors, ISWEN, RUFUTS, the Social Policy and Advocacy Committee, the Committee on International Affairs, and Field Educators will be selected by their respective constituencies thirty days before the annual meeting and their names reported to the Board of Directors and membership.
